" I never planned on getting into motorcycling but after a “if you do it, I’ll do it” moment between myself and one of my Dad’s friends, things escalated quickly.

As Dad was going through his own advanced riding course, he would often talk to me about what he was learning, so at Christmas 2024 I received an IAM RoadSmart gift voucher — and from that moment, things changed.

I was contacted by Dan McQuid to arrange my first Observed ride. We stopped halfway through the ride, and Dan gave me a few pointers to work on. What surprised me most was how quickly what I was learning started to carry over into everyday driving too — I found myself planning further ahead even in the car.
